What it does

Typeset a prose manuscript into a print-ready book interior. Returns a zip (base64) with: the interior PDF at your trim size (5x8, 5.25x8, 5.5x8.5, 6x9 or A5) with mirrored margins and the inside gutter chosen from the final page count per KDP's minimums, running heads (author on left pages, chapter title or book title on right pages), page numbers, every chapter opening on a right-hand page with automatic blank versos, half title / title page / copyright page / optional dedication / contents with page numbers / optional epigraph and About the Author, justified and hyphenated body text in Crimson Text (embedded, open licence), widows and orphans suppressed, smart quotes; an editable .docx twin with the same trim, mirrored margins, odd-page chapter sections and running-head fields; and LAYOUT-REPORT.md (page count, spine-width estimate, margin table against KDP minimums, chapter start pages, warnings). Text is never rewritten. Prose only: no images, footnotes, tables, verse, lists or non-Latin scripts.
